The doctor took the time to listen to all of my symptoms to make sure I was properly diagnosed prior to refilling any prescriptions, answered several questions I had about one of my one medications and was very patient with me when I explained I wasn’t sure whether or not one of my medications were working because there were no good or bad effects from it. It has been rough over the last year going to the urgent care where they have a psych clinic because I have never known until I was called into the back whether or not i would have the same psychiatric more than once so I felt like no one had a handle on my care so it was more like “here’s a script, come back in a month” and basically hope you see the same person. She’s definitely my new psychiatrist and I finally feel comfortable and like she will have a good handle on my care! Can’t wait to continue to work with her!

I feel like I accomplished more with Dr. Owusu in 30 minutes than I had in a years worth of therapy. She is warm, intelligent, and an excellent listener. She created action steps and goals for me to work on which made me feel very supported.

She has a wonderful bedside manner and for the first time in years I truly feel like my health issues can be managed. Dr. Owusu-Mensah was wonderful, as were her colleagues. I've mostly had the same psychiatrist for almost 20 years and a pretty traumatic experience when I saw a different one a few years ago, so changing doctors made me a bit nervous. It turns out I had nothing to worry about because Dr. Owusu-Mensah was attentive, thorough and didn't try to tell me that I have other psychiatric conditions (which the traumatic psychiatrist did before she ghosted me for weeks and I couldn't get my bipolar medication, which caused serious issues with my friends and job at the time). I agreed to have two med students join the video call and they were also fantastic, I actually hope all three of them join for my follow-up appointment in January! Great experience, great doctor, 10 of 10 would recommend!
